Face to face with Wikiholics.

October 30th, 2008 . by Liz

As you could not possibly have forgotten, there was a WikiAnswers Supervisors Conference back in September, where folks from deep inside the trenches - whether on the product development side or the active wiki side - got together in New York City to discuss, debate, laugh and cheer on the wonderful world of WikiAnswers.

At the time, a few of the ‘Wikiholics’ present volunteered to be interviewed and videoed in a quick documentary of their Wikiholicism for all of internet eternity. Now that we’re all back in our computer chairs/couches/beds with our laptops on hand and our browsers pointed to WikiAnswers, I thought it might be nice to review the footage and be inspired over and over.

Warning: this video contains explicit Wikiholicism. If you yourself are a Wikiholic and don’t think you’ll be able to last watching  a video instead of answering and editing, then this video is especially for you.

Like what you saw? Pass it around to your friends and family. This addiction can strike anyone, anytime, anywhere. And who are we to stop it?

The best internet video you’ll watch all day.

Remember when WikiAnswers was one of the Top Ten Web 2.0 sites chosen at TWS 2008 in Tel Aviv, Israel?

Here’s the presentation that was given by two awesome WikiAnswers-crazies:

Questions and Answers: The musical.

June 20th, 2008 . by Liz

You know when a song gets stuck in your head and you just have to share it with everyone, just so it’ll leave you and dump on someone else? (Do you want to be my someone else?)

Brave3, one of the most awesome contributors around, shared the following music video with me, which was shared with him by Ksmail, the proclaimed Youtube King. It’s… well, let’s just say it’s somewhat relevant if you listen to the chorus:

Artist: British band Biffy Clyro

Hmmm… A WikiAnswers theme song, you say? Interesting. Anyone want to take a stab?

Stop pushing me, Japan!

June 11th, 2008 . by Liz

Planning a trip to Japan? I’d highly suggest getting your questions answered first. Take a peek at the Japan category.

Also, take a peek at this video, which is reason #273 why I’m never stepping foot on a Japanese subway at rush hour (or maybe ever because there’s a chance this video was taken at 2 pm or 4 am).

I don’t know. I don’t know whether to laugh or cry or never ever go to Japan. I’m so confused. It’s so cold. Mommy.

Dedicated to Bruce, who managed to make a grown blogger cry out of fear.

The WikiAnswers - Healthination partnership.

June 8th, 2008 . by Liz

Healthination rules the school.

There is some pretty cool content in town, and its name is Healthination. That’s “a leading, independent producer of health videos that help you take control of your health,” run by medical professionals and also T.V. producers and musicians.

In the Health category on WikiAnswers, you can find one of Healthination’s videos embedded in every Q&A page with an existing answer. The videos are quick tutorials on health topics including heart health, home first aid, asthma, vision, healthy sleep, etc. There are also true life stories.

The Healthination videos on WikiAnswers are another way to get helpful information to the Q&A community. Want to check it out? Just click on any answered question in the Health category, press play, and start learning!
